Shirt dress mulai populer di awal tahun 1950-an. Setelah desainer international, Christian Dior, memamerkan rancangan new look dresses-nya. Kabarnya beliau terinspirasi dari bentuk kerah kemeja cowok, sekarang shirt dress tampil dengan berbagai variasi kerah, seperti petter pan collar ( kerah bulat ) yang terlihat sweet and girly.
Dress shirts became popular in the early 1950's. After theinternational designer, Christian Dior, dresses show off the design of his new look. Reportedly he was inspired by the form of a shirtcollar guy, now dress shirt collars come up with different variations,such as Petter pan collar (round collar) that look sweet and girly.
